Privacy Policy
Coastal Insurance Underwriters, Inc, its related companies
and websites on the World Wide Web (collectively referred to as "CIU" or "we")
respect the privacy of the independent producers and their clients
(collectively referred to as "clients," "you," or "your").
Our pledge to protect your privacy is reflected in this
Privacy Policy which outlines our principles in collecting, using and
safeguarding your personal information and information about your relationship
with us. We do not disclose any personal information about current or former
customers to anyone, except as permitted by law.
We only collect personal information about you when it is
necessary to conduct the business of insurance. We limit the collection of
personal information to what we reasonably believe is needed for your
independent producer to administer your account.
Protecting your information online
Whether you are a current customer or just visiting our web
site, we safeguard the information that you provide to us. We do not collect
personal information from anyone who is visiting or browsing our web sites.
Access to pages with content specific to producers or
customers is password-protected and requires pre-registration.
To protect the confidentiality of the information submitted we use secure socket layer (SSL) technology. SSL technology establishes a "secure"
Internet session and encodes the data submitted to Coastal Insurance Underwriters web sites, ensuring that the information is accessible only to an
authorized Coastal Insurance Underwriters independent producer and the client. To support SSL, clients will need a browser software product that
supports a minimum of 128-bit encryption. The encryption is used to protect the privacy of your account information. You can determine whether or
not a document is coming from a secure server by looking at the address of the web page being viewed. An "s" at the end of http indicates that you are
attached to a secure server using SSL technology. Therefore, any web page beginning with https:/ is considered secure.
In addition, we use firewalls, encryption technology, and
user authentication to control access to the personal information that may be
shared over these sites.
Sharing/Disclosing of Personal Information
When possible, we advise our vendors and other nonaffiliated
third parties to whom we legally provide your personal information in the
course of conducting our insurance business, of our privacy policy. We make
every effort to use vendors whose approach to customer privacy reflects our
own.
CIU does not use private information submitted on the web
sites for marketing purposes, nor do we share it with any third party for
marketing purposes. Statistical information derived from the information
submitted via the websites may be shared with third parties. However, such
statistical information is not disclosed in a personally identifiable manner.
Our Use Of "Cookies"
We may place an electronic "cookie" in the browser
files of a guest's computer. Cookies are pieces of information that a web site
transfers to an individual's computer hard drive for record-keeping purposes.
Cookies themselves do not enable us to access any personal information about
our visitors; however, they do allow us to analyze guests' use of our sites.
This analysis helps us better understand which areas of our sites are most
useful so we can make improvements and updates accordingly. We do not use
cookies to retrieve information from a visitor's computer that was not
originally sent in a cookie.
Notification of Change
We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy
Statement. Changes may be made from time to time, which may be provided to you
by any reasonable means including, but not limited to, posting the revised
draft of the Statement on the Websites.
Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule ("COPPA")

We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use personally identifiable information from children under age 13 on our websites.
